The idea to establish an electronic archive of electronic documents was caused by the situation, that EDCs have received less and less printed documents during the last years. A lot of EU publications even exist only in digital form. So it?s really tough work to get a methodical survey of relevant digital documents ? especially since the individual documents appear on different web pages or servers and may vanish as well ? unfortunately. The goal of this project is to build a common ?European Electronic Repository?, to support EDC Users, i.e. in particular the academic world, with a useful tool for searching electronic documents.

Some of the participants, who have applied for this exchange programme have even met each other during the last exchange scheme at University of Minho/Portugal. The remarkable results of this former project should now be continued and extended. The participants try to find answers to the following questions:

- What kind of collection profile can be defined for such an electronic repository?
- What technology (Hardware/Software) is necessary and who could do service and maintenance?
- How can the partners of this project find and use a common, multilingual, web-based cataloguing system?
-  What kind of controlled terms, thesaurus or classifications can be used?
- Is it possible to use tools, which are already developed in other projects like ArchiDok   http://archidok.uni-mannheim.de/en
